A specialist day school, which makes provision for up to 94 pupils and
students aged from 3-19. Pupils attend on a daily basis and are placed
by Local Authorities throughout the East Midlands.
The overall objective of the school is to provide the highest quality
specialist education that addresses the specific needs of autism as
well as the individuality of each pupil and his or her family.
The school has an exceptionally high staffing ratio and, in addition to
teachers and teaching assistants, employs a range of specialists
including speech and language therapists, psychologists, music
specialists and occupational therapists. The school is committed to the
broad principles of inclusion and a number of pupils have periods of
mainstream educational experience as part of their individual education
plan.
