Sutherland House Children's Services has always played an active part in research, publications and continuing professional development since the school was set up in collaboration with the Child Development Research Unit at Nottingham University. Funded and published research has included Frameworks for Communication (an approach to early intervention) and Pathological Demand Avoidance syndrome, which have been reported on at international conferences. Work in these areas continues and current interests include Augmentative and Alternative Communication, sensory issues and promoting mental health. | ![]() |
