NORSACA Selected as Charity of the Week

Thanks to votes from our supporters and the general public, NORSACA was selected as Optimist World website’s charity of the week for the 4th – 11th December.  We now move forward to the second stage of the website’s Charity of the Year competition, which will be taking place in 2009.

Will NORSACA be Charity of the Year?

NORSACA is participating in the Charity of the Year Competition on www.optimistworld.com which will bring in a very welcome cash donation if we are successful.
Please visit the site and vote for NORSACA between the 4th and 11th December.
Optimist World is a website dedicated to provide a more positive news agenda to sit alongside mainstream media channels.  As well as uplifting Good News, the site also investigates other aspects of everyday life which aim to inspire a positive outlook: Optimist Charities, Optimist Companies, Optimist Sports and Optimist Travel are only the beginning. The site is edited by seasoned world class journalists but is also creating a community of optimists that share inspiring stories and vote on their favourite charities and companies each week.

Autistic Student’s Art Exhibition
Sutton-in-Ashfield student Rhys Horner, who has autism, is to have his artwork included in an exhibition at a central Nottingham art gallery.

Newark resident, Chris Leach, held a birthday party in Newark on the 24th August and raised £300 for autism charity NORSACA.

Marathon Walk for Charity
Langwith resident Colin Draper raised £774 for autism charity NORSACA by walking over 25 miles last month. The walk took 8 hours and 20 minutes and went from Colin’s home to all five sites of Sutherland House School.

Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire-based autism charity NORSACA has organised a ground-breaking one-day conference at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham.
